B.A. University of Mary Washington
Kane returned to the Miller School of Albemarle as the Director of Admissions in 2019. He is a MSA alumnus who spent seven years on the Hill as a student. After graduating in 2008, he attended the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, earning his B.A. in English and Classics in 2012. He is a Charlottesville-area native and grew up on a cattle farm in Barboursville.
Post college, Kane returned to Charlottesville and worked as a journalist for the weekly newspapers in Greene and Madison Counties before becoming an English teacher at Madison County High School, where he taught for four years and fell in love with education. In the evenings, he taught tennis lessons through the University of Virginia.
In his spare time, Kane enjoys spending time on various courts— both the tennis and volleyball variety— reading, traveling, the outdoors, playing board games, and spending time with friends and family.
Miller is like a second home to Kane, having moved into Haden/Hart Hall at the age of 12 and boarded through his junior year. And everyone enjoys coming home.
