BOYS BASKETBALL
A tradition of excellence. MSA's boys basketball team has been a leader in the VIC for nearly twenty years. The team continues to improve and attract some of the nation’s most promising student-athletes. The program has developed national-level players and regularly sends players to Division I college teams. In 2018, the team won the Division 1 Virginia State Championship.

Jack Meriwether grew up in Charlottesville and attended Tandem Friends School, where he was a standout on the Badger’s basketball team. He makes his return to the area after coaching for four years at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he became the school’s all-time leader in Mountain East Conference wins. The 2018-2019 Wesleyan team also made their mark on the conference with a match-up zone that led the Mountain East in defensive efficiency, scoring defense, and turnover percentage. His Princeton-style offense also received national recognition, ranking fifth in zone offensive efficiency and first in three-point rate.
Prior to WVWC, Jack coached basketball around the state of Virginia, spending two seasons with Fork Union Military Academy’s post-graduate team, one season with Randolph College, and three years as the recruiting coordinator and 17U assistant coach for Boo Williams Nike EYBL team.
When he isn’t watching film or designing new plays, Jack’s likely learning a new board game or playing guitar. He and his wife, Cortney, have two children.
